A  music industry conference has announced its return to a live-event format to be held in Nambour next month with hopes to highlight the activation of the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct.

Now in its ninth year the Turn Up Sunshine Coast Music Industry Conference moved online during the pandemic following a sold-out 2019 conference.

On Tuesday 15 November at the Lind Theatre, Nambour there will be an evening of celebration and education including a keynote from Woodford Folk Festival Director Bill Hauritz, showcase acts, music industry panel and live Q and A with leading music industry achievers including Nambour’s Andrea Kirwin.

“After attending some international music conferences recently in Canada and Portugal I’m excited to be a part of our very own Music conference Turn Up right here in Nambour,” said Andrea.

“We have so much musical talent in our region and it’s great that we can showcase some of our local artists and work together to create a platform worthy of national attention. I see big things for Turn Up, and Nambour, in the future, with the right creative elements and funding it could become a destination for agents and managers looking to connect with our vibrant scene of independent artists and bands and have a fantastic holiday as well.”

Evening workshops will be held at Peace Run Records & Agency, Nambour on Wednesday   and Thursday 16 & 17 November. Curated by QMusic, the workshops will explore copyright, career planning, social media, digital marketing and collaboration opportunities.  Turn Up’s Creative Director Andrea Smith will unlock the secrets of preparing for successful arts grants at a workshop on Friday 18 November.

Finally, in the evening, the Fins, Anna and Jordan, Dan Horne and the Karen Law Duo will play at the Nambour Forecourt Live Event.
