There’s a lot more to brilliant lashes than meets the eye
When Chloe Harris decided on a career in beauty, she knew it was important to seek out the very best in training to enable her to start out in her own business with confidence.
Chloe graduated from Burnside High School at the end of 2019 and immediately enrolled at the Lash Joy Academy in Brisbane to complete an eyelash extension course. “It is considered the best in Queensland and it was recognised by the Australian Beauty Industry Awards (ABIA), in 2019 as the Educator of the Year. I did not want to learn by trial and error, I wanted to be trained by the best of the best,” Chloe said.
Having completed her training, Chloe started her own business, Bee Bold Beauty, and has fitted out a room at the Beauty Bar in Coronation Avenue, Nambour. “At the moment, I only do eyelash extensions but I will be expanding to brows in the near future,” Chloe said.
“There are a lot of therapists who offer eyelash extensions, but few who specialise in them,” Chloe explained. “Every tiny detail makes a huge difference to the quality and longevity of the extensions. For example, I only use fake mink lashes, because they hold extremely well, and last a lot longer than real mink or silk lashes.
“I use a particular eyelash glue that has been developed specifically for eyelash extensions, custom tweezers, which allow me to apply the lashes with greater precision and low allergenic medical tape, which does not irritate my client’s skin. To finish every set of extensions, I use a hand held fan to properly dry the glue before my client’s leave the salon.
“I am very particular about my work and when my clients leave the salon, I have to be completely happy with their lashes. At the end of the day, as long as my clients look fabulous and get good wear from their extensions, I am happy.”
