The dream is over before it began for a Kureelpa couple

It took seven years to find the perfect property to make a lifetime dream a reality but seven months later Kureelpa couple, David and Marilyn, have to give it up. In August last year they finally found a stunning 55 acre property close to Mapleton and Kenilworth in the beautiful Obi Obi Valley to establish a self sufficient health retreat. It had all the infrastructure they needed but sadly the young couple helping them had a change of heart and now they are struggling to keep up with the land.Marilyn said she was looking for a place with running water and sheer beauty, "The peace and serenity here had so much potential to make it an ideal place for people who are interested in a healthy lifestyle to escape to for a weekend or more," Marilyn said. "I wanted to plant 100 fruit trees so we had clean, organic food. It is just breaking my heart to leave but at our age we can't do the work the property deserves and it is best to find someone who can."David said it takes a lot of energy and if the young ones had stayed they could have done it. The reality is they now have to sell their dream and are keen to find someone who will love the land as much as they do. David and Marilyn said a health  or Yoga retreat was ideal and with two bores and two dams plus a running creek flowing through the property the possibilities are endless.
