Sunshine Coast RDA welcomes new volunteers

New volunteers participate in the hand’s on training sessions.

In the first week of February, Sunshine Coast RDA held a volunteer orientation, induction and training session ahead of its upcoming programs.

More than 30 new volunteers attended on the first day, with many returning throughout the week for additional training.

New volunteers had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the newly refurbished Rider Room and indoor arena. They learned about the organisation’s operations and the roles they will play in supporting RDA’s activities.

In addition, existing volunteers participated in extra training sessions.

The practical sessions covered the Masterson Method, techniques for identifying a lame horse, and a saddle fitting demonstration. One session featured a hands-on saddle fitting demo, showcasing advanced techniques in a practical setting.

Local media contributed to the strong turnout by advertising the New Volunteer Orientation and Induction morning.

The event provided a chance for the RDA team to welcome new volunteers and to update existing members on important procedures and skills.

Sunshine Coast RDA looks forward to working with this dedicated group of volunteers as it prepares for the season ahead.
