VISITORS were left speechless at the calibre of art on display on Friday August 28 as St John’s College Nambour annual art week culminated in their evening arts exhibition.

In his welcoming speech to guests, Curriculum Middle Leader of the Arts Pat Wilson highlighted that in such uncertain times St John’s College staff were proud to be able to hold an event such as this.

“Not only were guests able to view such a broad range of artwork of junior and senior students studying visual and media arts but also be entertained by our drama and music students with a variety of performances through the night,” he said.

The colour, diversity and range of mediums on display truly had to be seen to be believed and highlighted the broad range of talent that continues to be nurtured at the college.

Another welcome addition to the evening was special guest artist Nikita Newley who not only judged student artworks but provided a demonstration of her artwork by completing an original piece reflecting the values of the St John’s Community which was auctioned by Dave Cuskelly with funds raised going directly to the arts at the college.

Year 11 & 12: Phoebe Erbacher - Painting.

Guest Artist Choice:

Year 7 and 8: Sally Finter - Portraits;

Year 9 and 10: Mia Riley - Portrait;

Year 11 & 12: Isabella Rae - Painting/Drawing.

Principal’s Award:

Year 12: Lauren Camp watercolour, Body of work.
