Montville destination offers Christmas dining & accommodation package at its finest

The secret to escaping the holiday hustle

Business Writeup by Tanya Outridge

Thanks to the hustle and bustle that the season tends to bring, many people find themselves ready for a relaxing break by the time Christmas Day rolls around.

That is one of the reasons Secrets on the Lake’s devised its Christmas package, according to owner Aldy Johnston. “It is also rather nice not to have to spend a lot of time on the road at one of the busiest times of the year, and for Sunny Coast locals, our accommodation is basically 40 minutes from everywhere,” said Aldy. “A little break in a natural setting can be so restorative, and with the addition of our Christmas Package, you can rest assured that we will do all of the hard work for you.”

Secrets’ world class accommodation is the perfect backdrop for a peaceful and restful break amongst the trees. When the mercury is soaring, the rainforest offers cooler temperatures, and on wet or cooler days, it is wonderful to absorb the pure air and surrounding nature sights and sounds.

For Secrets’ guests, the Christmas Special Package introduces a food package to lift the luxury and relaxation to a new level.

Thoughtfully curated selection

Priced for two, the Package features a thoughtfully curated selection. You can indulge with a delectable box of chocolates, a gourmet cheese platter for two, a sumptuous BBQ hamper, and the coveted Christmas Platter, served promptly by 11am on Christmas Day.

“Putting together the food selection has been a lot of fun, and we are so excited for our guests to enjoy what we have on offer,” said Aldy.

In typical Secrets fashion, the servings are fresh, delicious and generous.

“The Christmas package is for two, but in reality, it is equivalent to four satisfying meals,” she said.

All the trimmings

You will enjoy a traditional platter comprising turkey, prawns, ham off the bone, potato salad, and a medley of seasonal fruits such as cherries and mango.

“We have complemented your feast with a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread so that you can turn your leftovers into hearty sandwiches on Christmas night, and there is the choice of a bottle of champagne or a selection from our premium wine list,” Aldy said.

No meal at Secrets would be complete without a mouth-watering dessert.

“Our dessert plate is so good, and it is brimming with Christmas treats including puddings, mince pies, shortbread, assorted chocolates, nuts, refreshing ice cream and homemade egg custard, all served with succulent raspberries,” said Aldy.

“You can upgrade to the ultimate experience with a bottle of Veuve Cliquot or Moet Champagne to enjoy with your food.”

In the lead up to Christmas, everyone is invited to enjoy beautiful Christmas food on the deck, and the Christmas menu is so popular that it is available until the end of December.

Secrets Dining on the Deck has multiple zones to enhance your dining experience. The rainforest wraps around the deck, which offers expansive views across the lake. There is plenty of space for larger groups, and the gazebo and hideaway are perfect for private functions. On warmer days, you can enjoy your meal in the air-conditioned gallery.

“Our team will be working hard so that you don’t have to,” said Aldy.

Dining on the Deck will only close on Christmas and Boxing Day and we are really looking forward to sharing traditional Christmas meals with our guests this year. Bookings are essential as we don’t want anyone to miss out.”
