BUSINESS WRITEUP: Salt & Battered

Sunshine Coast’s popular Salt ‘n Battered has expanded into Nambour and their “Nambour Burger” has been firmly cemented as a favourite with local diners.

The burger features a patty, onions, bacon, egg, cheese and sauce explained Manager Kody Jorgensen. “It is so good and I suspect it has become a bit of a hangover remedy because it is especially popular on Saturday and Sunday mornings when there are a few sore heads coming through the front door.”

Salt ‘n Battered has locations at Mudjimba, Bli Bli, Alexandra Headland, and now Nambour.

They offer freshly cooked seafood and burgers, and house-made gourmet gelato.

“Our meals are generous, made to order and extremely tasty”, Kody said. “The burgers are Australian-style burgers with delicious patties and beetroot. And people really love our house made gelato. It is the perfect way to finish off a meal.”

Salt ‘n Battered are also well known for emploing and supporting young people.

“For some of our staff, we have been their first job”, said Kody. 

“It can be extremely difficult for young people to secure a first job because they have no skills or experience. 

“We put our staff through a Certificate III in Hospitality which gives them a foot in the door to further education and employment.

“If they are still in school, the Certificate III can count towards their QCE score, so it is a real win-win for them.  Plus we have a fantastic, friendly working environment. We have a lot of fun working together.”
