Estate already feels like home, and not a house has yet been built

Julia Rossi Patrick Donovan ... “Everyone said our generation wouldn’t be able to afford a home but we worked hard, budgeted and made it happen”.

RE/MAX Nambour Director Tristan Brown says his team doesn’t just sell real estate, they build communities.

That ethos was clearly evident on Saturday as new buyers came together to meet their neighbours at a Perwillowen Park “block party” organised by the agency.

Mr Brown said the event gave buyers an opportunity to check their blocks, meet their neighbours and chat with agents, builders, developers and anyone else involved in the process.

Perwillowen Park is an estate of 36 residential home sites. All have been sold, much to the delight of agents Steve Pery and Toby Morrin.

Buyers enjoyed some local Diablo Ginger Beer as they toured their blocks in a golf cart and had their photos taken in the tranquil, semi-rural setting.

“It appears the community has been built even before a slab has gone down,” said Mr Pery.

“We’ve never seen this kind of event done before. We wanted to build a community and it started here today,” said Mr Morrin.

Julia Rossi and Patrick Donovan were delighted to be part of the new community.

“We’ve met all our neighbours,” said Julia. “We’re excited. It makes it feel like it’s happening already. It makes it all very exciting.”

“It will be our first home together,” said Patrick.  “Everyone said our generation wouldn’t be able to afford a home but we worked hard, budgeted and made it happen.

“We bought in October last year, so the timing was great. We’ve been working hard and saving up and we wanted to put our money towards an investment rather than renting.”
