RangeCare celebrates a year of growth and achievements at AGM

RangeCare has celebrated a year marked by significant growth and success at its AGM on November 8 at Flaxton Gardens.
RangeCare CEO Gary Holland delivered a positive report to the meeting. “RangeCare has had an outstanding year on many fronts,” Mr Holland said. “We have not only met but exceeded our expectations.”
One of the year’s most notable achievements was reaccreditation, with RangeCare meeting all 44 quality care standards.
“This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” Mr Holland said, recalling the board’s early focus on this goal when he joined in 2021.
Financially, RangeCare generated a surplus that will be reinvested into enhancing client services and future-proofing operations.
The organisation’s reach expanded significantly, managing 500 Home Care Packages, including 300 clients in Gympie, and delivering over 130,000 hours of services—a 38 percent increase from last year.
Volunteers, whom Mr Holland hailed as “RangeCare’s heroes,” contributed nearly 13,000 hours of service, showcasing a strong community spirit even as volunteer numbers rebounded post-pandemic.
The past year also saw new initiatives, such as the Get Connected IT program, the reopening of overnight respite at Flaxton after a three-year pause, and community-focused events like Wills Seminars and Seniors Forums.
RangeCare strengthened its infrastructure, enhancing cybersecurity, upgrading vehicle fleets, and implementing new software for online education and quality assurance.
“What excites me most is that amidst this enormous growth and change, we've maintained the essence of RangeCare and honoured the spirit and vision of those who have been part of our journey since 1986,” Mr Holland said.
Looking forward, RangeCare is gearing up for the introduction of the New Aged Care Act and the Support at Home program transition in 2025. Plans include a Nambour redevelopment, a new client management system, and innovative services such as a mobile day centre and an allied health team.
“Our team and Board will face more pressure and accountability to deliver safe, quality care,” Mr Holland said. “But with strategic thinking and unity, I am confident we will succeed.”
