Tickets now on sale for massive Rangebow Festival

The Rangebow Festival aims to celebrate diversity, inclusiveness, sustainability, creativity and reconciliation.

The Rangebow Festival is the newest and largest festival to arrive in the Hinterland.

Organisers say its aim is to celebrate diversity, inclusiveness, sustainability, creativity and reconciliation.

It will be held across the Blackall Range communities over four days from Wednesday 10 August until Saturday 13 August 2022.

“The festival is designed to appeal to everyone; no labels, no acronyms; because everyone matters; everyone belongs,” said Festival Director Wayne Parcell.

Wayne’s team have curated a program offering over 30 events, including some free. “There’s Cabaret shows, Moonlight Symphony with Sunshine Coast Symphony Orchestra and the Golden Days performance at Nambour Cinema.”

For something completely different you can take a Walk on the Wild Side for a guided walk through the emerging Barung Seed Forest and learn about native plants, garden design and wildlife or   discover the the world of the Platypus in Obi Creek.

“For attendees looking for a First Nations gourmet experience, award-winning indigenous chef Aunty Dale Chapman will deliver a food and culture experience at Flaxton Gardens that will take you far, far away with Forage Fire Feast,” said Wayne.

Glass House MP Andrew Powell said the first Rangebow Festival was an event not to be missed.

“There’s been nothing else quite like it in the Hinterland, with so many different experiences on offer. I’m personally keen to check out the Forage Fire Feast and Moonlight Symphony.”

The Enchanted Garden is a free, ticketed event in the Village Green, Montville on three afternoons from midday to 5pm, offering entertainment for everyone.

There’s live music, poetry, in-conversations with Australian Olympians, stories from First Nations people, climate specialists and even an equine therapist.

Princess Diana’s Dream Analyst, Joan Hanger, will also be in the garden to take you on a journey through the life of your dreams.

For a truly captivating dreaming experience of the world’s oldest culture, join Jinibara Culture Man BJ Murphy who will enthral you with the Glass House Mountains dreamtime stories, with the ancient lands in sight from Mary Caircross Reserve, Maleny.

Another family fun free day is the Bunya Bears Brunch with First Nations performances, hip-hop dancers, local food producers, roving entertainment and prizes for children who dress up.

There’s an intimate opera experience in the exquisite Montville Chapel called The Chapel of Love and will welcome Opera Queensland stars accompanied on piano by award-winning Luke Volker, a composer and pianist.
