Authors Joan Dillon and Nita C Lester are launching a new book dedicated specifically to gardening on the Blackall Range and hinterland.

“Range & Hinterland Gardening” provides information on growing natives, annuals, bulbs, bromeliads, roses, orchids, vegetables, succulents, camellias, perennials and more and features a fully illustrated catalogue of over 450 species.

It includes advice on soil types, flowering seasons, preferred locations, watering requirements, pruning and more.

“Numerous local gardeners share their wisdom and the knowledge that they have gathered over many years of gardening,” said Nita.

Full colour images in the book have all been donated.

Attendees can enjoy wine and cheese and meet some of the specialist authors and photographers at either of two launches.

The venues include: Rosetta Books Maleny at 5pm on Friday 28 April; and Montville Village Hall at 6pm on Wednesday May 3.

All profits will be donated to the community through the Montville Village Association and the Mapleton Library and Community centre.
