Sundale Community Foundation (SCF) visited Palmwoods Warriors Football club on Saturday 5 March to celebrate a community grant awarded to the club of $4185.

Sundale Community Foundation Board Member Wayne Greenham said the Warriors were one of 12 projects funded last year, with the 2022 grants round opening on 1 June.

“SCF has funded more than $200,000 in cash grants to 49 eligible recipients across Nambour and its surrounding areas.”

Palmwoods Warriors Football Club President Tarryn Powell said the club was thrilled to unveil the new training jerseys.

“Jerseys provide not only a visual identity but unity for players, and we invited Evangeline Walton, a former member and local Indigenous budding artist to design the jerseys as we wanted acknowledge our past and move forward as we celebrate 30 years as Palmwoods Warriors this year.’

Evangaline says, ‘The design was inspired by Paynter’s Creek, which runs alongside the fields because it helps cool players after games. We thanked Eva and Wayne Greenham from Sundale Community Foundation at today’s event.’

We encourage the community to come on down one Saturday to enjoy a game, and let your kids know what a club we are, we make an awesome coffee and steak burger too.
