You can help raise funds to replace stolen ute
For the past 12 months 17-year-old Rhett Dodd has been working hard as a first year apprentice carpenter and saving his money to be able to purchase his own vehicle.
In fact four months ago he was able to purchase a modest and practical hilux ute. He was very excited about getting his license in five weeks time, having his independence and looking forward to getting himself to and from work and some solo adventures.
But his hopes were shattered when thieves stole his car from the front of his family's property in Eudlo. It has not been seen since February 3 when it was sited with two young boys driving it and the plates removed.
“Due to the exorbitant costs of insurance for young drivers the vehicle was only covered for third party. So it was obviously not covered for theft,” said Eudlo’s Helen Knight who has launched a campaign on MyCause.com.au raising money to help Rett replace the vehicle.
“I am putting a call out to our local and wider community to help restore this young man’s faith in humanity,” Helen said. “He paid $3000 for this car and I would love to see if we can raise close to that, to either replace his stolen car before he is due to get his license, or do whatever repairs may need to be done to his original car if it happens to be found and maybe have enough to purchase comprehensive insurance.”
The campaign had yesterday raised $704 in 5 days. To contribute go to https://www.mycause.com.au/p/276228/help-rett-replace-his-stolen-ute
