Judging by these figures, indoor bowls is a game for the ages
If the average age of players is anything to go by, indoor bowls must be excellent for your health and longevity.
The Palmwoods Indoor Bowls Club has recently celebrated 80th birthdays with several members.
“Bob Simpson, Neil Backman, Maureen Mannix and Evan Ward all turned 80 in the past month and it has been terrific to celebrate with them,” said Club spokesman, Les Mott.
Club members play indoor bowls every Tuesday and Thursday morning starting at 8.30am through to 12noon at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall, Main Street, Palmwoods.
“During the year we run competitions between ourselves and award trophies to the players at the end of the year at our Christmas lunch,” Les said. “It is a lot of fun.”
“Our Club is very well supported in the Palmwoods community, as we have several members from the Sundale Retirement Village and we are incredibly grateful to be sponsored by the Palmwoods Heritage Community Bank.
