Golden opportunity as luxury estate releases homes and opens social club

Perfect for down-sizers:

Business Writeup: Greenwood Forest Glen

A luxury over-50s living community has just released 35 new homes, adding to the significant growth of the area and providing much needed accommodation for people looking to downsize.

Greenwood Forest Glen has seen a huge increase in demand for their houses as Sales Manager Rob Midgley said they already have people eagerly waiting for the release of this next stage of the ‘heights precinct’.

“We have 83 homes currently lived in and 23 under construction. The release of the next batch of residences will bring the estate closer to its expected capacity of 180 houses.”

Mr Midgley said it’s important to be able to offer a downsizing opportunity to over 55s who are looking to move to a more luxurious and affordable lifestyle.

“95% of our current residents have relocated here from other areas of the Sunshine Coast so this shows how much these kinds of properties are needed,” he said.

Mr Midgley said they are proud to offer high-quality homes perfect for downsizers that couldn’t come at a better time as the region experiences challenges across the housing market.

“We’re very proud to offer a product that can help locals stay in the region and not be forced to look away from the Coast.”

The release of the homes comes ahead of the opening of Club Eden where residents can enjoy an event space, function room and ample spaces for meetings, activities, parties and events.

Club Eden boasts a 25m pool, gym, tennis court, library, art studio, workshop, games room and bowling green, along with a community garden.

Greenwood Forest Glen is within the growing Forest Glen township which is becoming an incredibly vibrant community which includes a new village centre, grocery store, health centre, and revamped chemist, as well as access to nature through its network of pedestrian walkways.

“Residents of Greenwood enjoy a more affordable cost of living and a great quality of life with easy access to amenities, local shops and public transport, as well as beautifully private natural surroundings including our five hectares of private conservation reserve with walking trails,” Mr Midgley said.

Local businessman and housing campaigner Mal Cayley, of Direct Collective, said purpose built houses such as these can free up demand for other properties which is exactly what the Sunshine Coast needs right now.

“It’s loud and clear from the locals that we need smaller downsizer properties because those that are looking for larger family homes are finding it difficult because the older demographic is unable to downsize due to the lack of downsizer product.

“These new offerings from Greenwood Forest Glen provide the housing types that demographers have been referred to as ‘the missing middle’, previously lacking on the Sunshine Coast,” he said.

Construction on stage 4B started in July and completion is estimated toward the end of 2024.

Greenwood Forest Glen is celebrating the release of the 35 single and double-storey homes, in conjunction with the opening of their brand-new hub and social centre ‘Club Eden’, with an open event on Saturday 12th of August from 9am - 1pm.

The family-friendly event will be a day of fun and festivities including lucky door prizes, Mix FM live broadcast, food and drink stalls, wildlife display, forest trail tours and more for potential residents to see what life at Greenwood Forest Glen entails.
