Toads rugby aims high in 2023

The Toads under 12s enjoyed a Premiership win at Sunshine Coast Stadium in 2022

There are big plans in the pipeline for the Nambour Toads Rugby Union Club for 2023.

“We are building a club that not only supports players in their personal development and love of rugby but engages with past players, local businesses, friends and families to build a community,” said club spokesperson, Kalyani Gardner.

Nambour Toads Rugby Union Club is a rapidly growing club which achieved 4 Premiership titles in Juniors, Women’s and Men’s divisions last season.

“The achievements of last year really were a testament to the incredible commitment and teamwork of not just our players, but the wider club community and our generous business sponsors,” she said. “We have been able to participate in so many fantastic opportunities, including our Youth Girl’s team competing against some of the best teams in the world, in New Zealand late last year.

That experience highlighted the incredible depth of talent in our club.”

On Australia Day, the club will officially launch the 2023 season with a sign on event and are inviting anybody who would like to join their thriving community to come along.

“There will be novelty golf on a putt putt course, thong throwing, toad races, backyard cricket, pulled pork burgers and a bbq available to feed everyone.

“Ours is a family club, and there will be something for the whole family to enjoy.”

Sign on Saturday

The sign on will kick off at 2pm on Saturday the 28th of January at the Nambour Rugby Football Club in Laidlaw Road, Nambour. Moving forward, sign on and social touch football is on every Tuesday at 4pm starting January 31. For more information you can email the club at toadrugbycommunity@gmail.com
