Real Estate agents donate $7020 to Nambour Community Centre

Richard Krausz, left, and Megan Manly, right, from Team Krausz RE/MAX Property Sales Nambour present a $6120 (total since updated to $7020) cheque to Nambour Community Centre Manager Rachael Donovan, second from left, and Admin Officer Hayley King.

The Nambour Community Centre provides food, essential amenities and support to over 40,000 vulnerable community members each year.

That task will be made a little easier thanks to a $7020 donation from Richard Krausz and Megan Manly of RE/MAX Property Sales Nambour.

Richard said rising prices recently had placed significant housing pressure on vulnerable people in the community. To play a part in countering the effects Team Krausz pledged $300 from the sale of every property listed with them from October 2021 through to March 2022.

“The Community Centre has been run off their feet trying to cope with the housing crisis,” said Richard. “We wanted to use our position in the real estate industry to give back and support the work of the Community Centre.”

“Thank you for your very generous donation of $7020 to the Nambour Community Centre,” said Finance Officer Janelle Taylor. “Your donation has been vital to enabling us to provide much needed support in our community.”

Janelle said the funds received have been utilised to provide weekly nutritious freshly cooked lunches, frozen pre-cooked meals and staple groceries, prepaid gift cards for essential items & Adventure Fridays – the Community Centre’s after school outdoor exploration activities.

“We are so grateful for all of the work the Community Centre does and to know we have helped support our local community is the best feeling,” said Megan.

“In fact we have decided to continue with the promotion for another six months as it is making a difference and it is important to us to be able to give back.

“When we had the original idea for this last year we were unsure of how much we could raise so we are delighted to have been able to contribute over $7000. We are excited to see if we can double that in the next six months.”
