Local groups and businesses in Nambour are joining forces to boost the town’s economy and attract more visitors.

Organised by Rhonda Billett, Nambour Groups have been updating the town’s online presence with modern photos, videos, a website (www.iamnambour.com.au) and business information. After completing the first stage, they are now preparing to roll out phase two in collaboration with a larger array and catchment of local businesses.

The aim is to increase awareness of Nambour’s attractions, encourage higher footfall traffic to local businesses and promote the former sugar town as the Gateway to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

“After the initial launch of the I Am Nambour video series the Nambour Chamber of Commerce, Nambour Tram Co, Reimagine Nambour and Nambour Retailers Group are preparing stage 2,” Rhonda said.

“This Region continues to grow in popularity and with more people than ever visiting the area and looking for places to stay as well as things to do.  Nambour Groups are doing everything we can to position Nambour and surrounds, so we all benefit economically from these opportunities.”

Rhonda said the recent launch of Bonza Airways, would bring an estimated 800,000 extra people a year to the region. “All the more reason for Nambour Groups to explore opportunities for the town to financially benefit as the gateway to the hinterland,” she said.

“All businesses can get involved. We will be announcing a free business event for all to attend soon.”

In the meantime, Rhonda encouraged people to contact the team at www.IAmNambour.com.au for further information.

“Also visit the I Am Nambour YouTube account and share our videos,” she said. “Also consider joining the Nambour Chamber of Commerce to keep up to date with regular events, newsletters and, most importantly, join in the fun.”

Rhonda meets monthly with key players in town under the loosely affiliated “Nambour Groups” banner.

As well as refreshing the media assets she and Div 10 Cr David Law  launched the Nambour Parking Map and last year the Nambour Vintage and Retro Op Shop Hip Hop Map this year. Both are live at www.iamnambour.com.au.
