Nambour Forecourt Live celebrates two year anniversary

Nambour Forecourt Live celebrates its 2 year anniversary this Friday 25th August. Originally launched as a Sunshine Coast Council initiative to activate the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct resulting from Community Consultations in 2021, the event has grown into a much loved monthly gathering for the creative community of Nambour and across the Sunshine Coast.

Andrea Kirwin from Peace Run Records has been the event programmer and promoter behind the event and states that 'Nambour Forecourt Live has been a fantastic monthly event that showcases not only the world class local talent we have here on the Coast, but also highlights the great local support for live music that exists within our community'.

She mentions that 'The social events calendar in Nambour continues to grow with new venues opening including a revamped Small Change now located on the corner of Bury and Curry st extending their trading hours to include Friday and Saturday nights and featuring live music.

Also Dance, Art ETC have been hosting some fantastic events since their recent opening next door and of course the Old Ambulance station and Black Box Theatre have been a cultural hot spot with Bad Habit records opening up next door'.

Kirwin admits that 'It's been a slow burn over the past two years but the Nambour Special Entertainment Precinct is definitely reaching a new level of excitement as venues open and more creatives are drawn to the town and Nambour Forecourt Live has definitely played a part in creating a positive momentum'.

The next event will be held on Friday 25 August from 4pm - 8.30pm on the corner of Currie and Bury St outside Nambour Library and Council Chambers.
