Heartfelt letters make Mums’ days
After reading all of the entries in the recent Nambour Plaza and Buderim Marketplace Mother’s Day Letter Writing Competition, Savills’ Centre Manager, Michelle Lees, and Marketing Manager, Rebekah Radov have selected the winners.
Nambour’s Martina Hunt won a $500 gift certificate after her six-year-old son, Zavier, wrote a beautifully decorated letter about his mum. “It was so obvious that he had put so much effort into it, he even decorated the envelope” Ms Radov said. “What really stood out to me was when he said ‘my mum sings bad, but dances good’. It was so sweet.
“Xavier told me that he put lots of words and lots of pictures on his letter, because he loves going to Woolies and eating the fruit,” she said. “It was very cute.”
The $500 gift certificate for Buderim Marketplace was given to 22 year old Brianna McKinlay, after her mother in law to be, Eva, penned a moving letter describing what a caring young woman she is.
“Eva talked about how Brianna ‘ticks all the amazing mum’ boxes,” Ms Radov said.
“Brianna has an 8 month old baby and is also taking care of her fiance, who has had a serious health issue, leaving him unable to work at the moment.
“She is also studying online through TAFE to be a dental assistant. Eva felt that Brianna deserved the gift card because she has been through so much, but is always there for her family,” said Ms Radov.
“It was an absolute pleasure to read all of the many entries and to meet the recipients of the gift cards, in person.
