Tools, timber, workshops and more! Maleny Wood Expo’s back

From ‘seed to fine furniture’, the Maleny Wood Expo has everything from woodworking workshops for adults and children, exhibitors displaying sustainable homewares, fine furniture & art.

With a dynamic program on offer, a full house of exhibitors, a lineup of amazing local live music, and some new features built into the program this year, the return of the Maleny Wood Expo is set to be a fantastic weekend for the whole family to enjoy!

The Maleny Wood Expo, which is hosted by Barung Landcare over the Labour Day long weekend, is in its 24th year.

It is the local Landcare group’s biggest fundraiser of the year and focuses on promoting the sustainable use of our beautiful timbers.

All funds raised help Barung Landcare deliver its environmental activities across the Blackall Range and surrounds, and go back into future Wood Expo events.

From ‘seed to fine furniture’, the Maleny Wood Expo has everything from woodworking workshops for adults and children, exhibitors displaying sustainably produced homewares, fine furniture and art.

There’s tools and machinery for the avid woodworker, and a range of timber for sale. There’s even a Tiny House Village featuring a range of exhibitors focused on off-grid living, and native plants for sale.

All wood artisans and exhibitors are required to work in sustainably harvested native timbers, weed species, or salvaged or recycled timbers to exhibit at the Maleny Wood Expo. The Wood Expo is a great way to support local businesses and artisans who have the planet in mind.

The Maleny Wood Expo will be held April 29 - May 1. To book your tickets or for more information visit www.malenywoodexpo.com.

A sustainable celebration

With a focus on the sustainable use of natural resources, the 24th Maleny Wood Expo has become one of the best wood shows in Australia, attracting up to 10,000 visitors to the hinterland over the Labour Day long weekend.

The Blackall Range Woodies are proud to support the Maleny Wood Expo and will showcase their woodcraft works of art, available for purchase, crafted by members. Make sure to check out the Maleny Community Centre and Mary Cairncross Discovery Centre’s magnificent entry doors, made and donated by Woodies members.

For young visitors, the Blackall Range Woodies Children’s Workshop offers a great opportunity to get creative with wood. Suitable for 4-12-year-olds, daily workshops will be held from 10 am - 2 pm with no bookings needed. Children will be supervised, and the workshop space will accommodate a maximum of 12 children at a time.
