Krysalis Eco-Dyeing: Unique Eco-Friendly Fashion and Homewares opens in Mapleton

Kris has found her passion in eco-dyeing at her new Mapleton shop.

Krysalis Eco-Dyeing, a new business in Mapleton owned by Kris Morriss, is bringing a touch of nature to fashion and homewares with its original eco-dyed designs.

Located at 3 Obi Obi Road, the showroom offers a diverse collection of unique items ranging from silk scarves and pillowcases to merino wool leggings and linen shirts.

Kris, who recently transitioned from being a Visual Art teacher at a Sunshine Coast secondary school, has found her passion in eco-dyeing. She explains, “I fell in love with the eco-dyeing process and have been developing and refining my skills. You never stop learning with this process.”

The name Krysalis Eco-Dyeing holds a special significance for Kris. “My best friend calls me Krysalis. When I thought about what I do, I realised that each bundle is a little chrysalis waiting to emerge. Each bundle is a transformation into something beautiful.

Krysalis Eco-Dyeing offers a variety of high-quality items, each with a unique pattern created from locally sourced foliage. Customers can expect to find silk scarves, Australian made merino wool leggings, silk and merino tops, linen shirts, luxurious silk pillowcases, and more. No two pieces are the same, making every purchase a one-of-a-kind original.

The showroom is open daily except for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 8-2 inviting visitors to explore the beautiful and sustainable creations that reflect the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast.
