In an inspiring display of community spirit, Adam Clout and Asher Mannetje, owners of Jim’s Mowing franchises in Woombye and Mountain Creek, have stepped up to support the Legacy charity. 

During last year’s Centenary of Legacy, Adam and Asher approached Sunshine Coast Legacy Group to offer their services, free of charge, to Legacy’s Backyard Assist Program.

Widows from Nambour and Mountain Creek gratefully accepted the offer from the Jim’s Mowing Team to tidy up their overgrown backyards. 

Not only did the franchisees support the Backyard Assist Program, they also offered all Sunshine Coast Legacy Group members and their families a 20 percent discount on any outdoor services such as lawn mowing, gardening, rubbish removal, driveway and house high pressure cleaning and any outdoor odd jobs.

“We couldn’t have done it without the support of these two Jim’s Mowing Franchisees,” said Sunshine Coast Legacy Group Chair, Rhondda Poor. “We are truly grateful for the support Adam and Asher gave our elderly Legacy widows during our commemorative 100-year anniversary”.

The Sunshine Coast Legacy Group is home to around 40 volunteer members, known as Legatees, and supports nearly 700 clients, including children and individuals with disabilities.  Despite lacking regular government funding, Legacy’s commitment remains steadfast, heavily relying on community aid and grants.

Legacy is one of Australia’s oldest and most trusted charities dedicated to supporting the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans of our Australian Defence Force. Last year, Legacy proudly commemorated 100 years of keeping the promise to help families carry on with their lives after the loss or injury of a loved one in military service.

One of the services offered, particularly to elderly widows, is the Backyard Assist Program where the support of community groups and schools is enlisted and local service providers engaged to clean up backyards which have become overgrown and unmanageable.
