What a blast! Business offers indoor laser & gel combat scenario
A former police officer has opened a live action combat simulation facility in Nambour that will offer exciting challenges for players of all ages.
Challenge Accepted hosts competitive games in three different gear types including laser tag, gel balls and NERF gear (Non Expanding Reactive Foam) at the Price Street location.
Owner Peter Greiger said players enjoyed refereed and realistic scenarios in an ever-changing playing field in the 650 square metre premises. Eyewear and footwear is compulsory but gel balls weren’t painful.
“It gives kids the opportunity to get off their devices and come down here and experience a realistic, challenging and fun activity where they can have simulated battles, but in real life,” Peter said. “It also keeps you fit.
“Everything is done in a safe and family-friendly environment. We’ve got something for everyone over eight years old. We do birthday parties, corporate events, team-building and we’re about to open a shop selling gel blasters.
“With all the kids out there sitting at home playing video games, this gives them a facility to go to and play out those video game dreams but it’s real, it’s safe and it’s incredibly fun. Also, the social side of it is huge.”
Anyone interested should keep an eye on Facebook and consider special public sessions which are open to everyone on Saturdays from 4.30pm.
“We’ve had a very good response, crazy actually. We’ve had over 300 visits on the website every day. The big thing is birthday parties.”
Peter said he was also trying to get a gel ball league up and running involving teams from all around Queensland.
