Miniature horses May and Ambrose enjoyed a stroll into Eudlo recently.

Owner Jade Briggs said, being small, miniatures were great for competitions because they were so easy to take care of and transport. Miniature horses are not Shetland ponies. Shetland’s are their own breed while miniatures are bred to represent the characterists of a full size horse breed, only in a smaller version.

Hence May is a 7 month old bay Appaloosa and Ambrose is a a pinto.

“They’re very strong and can pull a cart. They’re also used as support animals or guide horses,” said owner Jade Briggs. “So they’re smart as anything.

“They pick up on your emotions so if people are anxious they will notice and calm you down.”
