Gallery: Palmwoods Branch shares $210K with local heroes
LAST Saturday night, the 28th of September, the Palmwoods Hotel played host to the Heritage Bank Palmwoods Community Branch and their guests as the Branch Directors and staff handed out $210,000 in community sponsorships to 38 local groups and organisations.
This figure includes the Nambour Special School with $2,500 and two door prizes totalling $617. As in previous years, it was an evening filled with fun and laughter that served to underline the tremendous sense of community, camaraderie and connection which has been carefully nurtured by the Branch for 18 years.
The Heritage Bank Palmwoods Community Branch is a joint-venture between Heritage Bank and the local Palmwoods community, rep- resented by Palmwoods Community Branch Ltd (PCB).
It was established after 99 local investors raised $200,000 in capital to help set up the branch in 2006. Under the Heritage community branch model, the PCB’s share of the profits then goes back to the community via sponsorships to dedicated local organisations and community events and projects that will benefit the Palmwoods community.
“On behalf of the Direc- tors and staff of the Branch, I want to thank everyone who supports the Heritage Community Bank Palmwoods Branch,” said Director Audrey Lyttle.
“The operations of the bank would not be possible without community support, and I can’t overemphasise how important it is to come into the Branch to do your banking. Apart from the fact that the personal service is what sets our Branch apart, it allows us to give back to our community in the form of our community sponsorships,” she said.
“The more our branch is supported, the more we can contribute to our wonderful community.” You can call the Branch on 5294 0600. Featured are the 2024 successful sponsorship ap- plications and the amounts awarded.
