Happy Days Festival to bring back fun of the 50s and 60s!

Sarah and Nathan Major of Cool Cats Dance Studio will be hosting dance workshops and demonstrating swing and rockabilly dance at the festival.

Woombye and hinterland locals save the date! Planning and preparations for the May 7 Woombye Happy Days-themed festival are being finalised, and it is shaping up to be a day of fun for all ages.

“The Woombye Community Business Association (WCBA) is excited to be hosting this event which has been made possible thanks to the Bendigo Community Bank Woombye & Districts,” said WCBA President Nathan Major.

“We are wrapping up the official documentation, but we have some really fun and exciting family activities confirmed including market stalls, dance workshops, live bands, a DJ, local food and drinks, and a pizza truck,” he said.

Classic cars, live music and pizza truck confirmed for Woombye festival.

The 50s and 60s themed celebration is also set to include classic cars.

“We even have a classic Mr Whippy van, which will be a bit of nostalgia, and The RocknRollaBillys and The Wild Ones will keep everyone entertained and dancing,” Nathan said.

“Look for activity around town from around 12 midday, with the event officially opening at 3pm. Participation is free. The only event that will be ticketed is the dance, which is being held in the main Hall, and this is simply due to space restrictions,” he said.

The WCBA is also looking for expressions of interest from other venues and vendors that would like to join in the festivities on the day.
