Glass House Cleans Up in Gambling Community Benefit Fund Grants

Member for Glass House Andrew Powell is delighted to announce that Round 106 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) has brought a total of $214,788 in grants to the Glass House electorate – the highest amount it has received in over three years.

The GCBF provides sizeable grants to Queensland not-for-profit community organisations with revenue sourced from gaming taxes, distributing approximately $53 million per year to Queensland communities.

“Glass House is on the up and up,” said Mr Powell.

“Round 104 saw us win $193,953 and I was stoked with that, so it’s a real treat to see our local community groups share funding in excess of $200,000 in Round 106.”

“I always try to encourage as many community groups as possible to apply for these grants. Applications from the Glass House electorate are usually treated very well due to our abundance of small, volunteer run organisations.”

“And if you’ve already received a grant previously, just apply again! Plenty of groups have been able to receive two or three grants.”
