Funds help Troop stay well-equipped
Woombye Light Horse Troop recently thanked Cr Winston Johnston and Sunshine Coast Regional Council for a $1000 discretionary funding grant.
The troop used the grant to purchase secure storage cases for their PA equipment, event equipment and hand-held CB radios which they use during street parades.
Woombye Light Horse Troop has a Drill Hall in Woombye’s CWA Park, where the troop come together for meetings and where they house a small museum which is open to the public at some events and on request.
Woombye Light Horse Troop is a local community group which endeavours to keep alive the history of the Australian Light Horse.
They participate in and hold services and parades, such as on ANZAC Day and Beersheba Day and visit other local community groups and schools giving talks and demonstrations.
Woombye Troop are very much part of the local community and new members are always welcome, (riders and non riders).
