Great big Short Film festival showing at Majestic Cinemas

The best of international and Australian short films will be showcased at Nambour Flickerfest this month.
Flickerfest gives audiences a window into the hottest contemporary shorts from at home and across the world today.
John Harvey will attend the screening.
A highlight of the program will be Nambour resident John Harvey’s film ‘Katele (Mudskipper)’, which won the Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2023.
The film was shot in Brisbane and on John’s home of Sabai Island in the Torres Strait.
Its mixture of humour, poignancy and intimate reflection of First Nations culture has resonated with audiences and judges alike.
Other Australian shorts include ‘Lean’, a contemporary father/son drama starring Nicholas Hope and Harry Greenwood and ‘Married at First Fleet’ which follows a modern-day 18th century couple in the Australian colony who are matched according to common interests, attractiveness and lack of diseases. Oscars-nominated ‘An Ostrich Told Me The World Is Fake And I Think I Believe It’, is also screening.
The Best of International Shorts will screen on March 17. These include UK comedy ‘Dream Big’, powerful new drama ‘IVALU’ and the delightful Canadian animation, ‘The Flying Sailor’.
