Experience country life

You can feed and pat the animals, enjoy some great fresh and locally-made food and just relax

Yabbaloumba Retreat are throwing open their gates for the inaugural Farm Day on Saturday 3rd October so families can get a taste of the country, feed the animals, tour the farm and more.

The picturesque 200-acre property at Cambroon, near Kenilworth, is a working farm with a wide range of animals including lambs, geese, goats, a horse, cows, pigs, alpacas and more.

The first Farm Day will be open from 9am to 3pm. You will be able to visit with and feed the animals and there will be lamb bottle feeds at 11am and 2pm and farm cart tours throughout the day.

Property owners Lloyd & Barb Campbell, pictured, said the Farm Days were a great opportunity for kids to learn about where their food comes from and experience a different kind of life.

“We love our open space, so we wanted to invite everyone to experience farm life – to feed and pat the animals, enjoy some great fresh and locally-made food and just relax,” Barb said.

“There will also be lawn games, face painting, a Platter Building Workshop with Grazing Acres at 10am and a Flower Arrangement Workshop with Yuraki Botanicals at 2pm and a pop-up lawn bar from 11.30am to 2.30pm, so there is something for everyone to enjoy,” she said.

Lloyd said with COVID-19, life has changed for so many and they want the Farm Days to be an opportunity for people to take some time out for themselves and their family and friends.

• Event tickets will be only be available online. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for kids up to 12-years-old or there are family passes. For info visit www.yabbaloumbaretreat.com.au.
