By day Debbie Kimber is a Senior Psychologist at the Queensland Drug and Alcohol Court in Brisbane.  And by night she often hops off the train at Woombye station and heads straight in to town to chair regular Woombye Community and Business Association meetings in her role as president.

Favourite AFL and/or NRL team? I follow Rugby Union and my favourite team is University of Sunshine Coast Barbarians (my son is captain).

The last TV show or movie you loved/binged? Mare of Easttown - Kate Winslet is amazing in this.

One thing on your bucket list? Visit Lake Eyre when it is in flood.

What’s your day job? Senior Psychologist QLD Drug and Alcohol Court. 

What’s one thing you love about your role as President WCBA? Working with others to improve and advance Woombye’s interests and having a lot of laughs and fun along the way.

What would your friends/family say is your most annoying habit? I’m very competitive.

What is something people don’t know about you? I’m very competitive 

What one thing would you like to see happen in Woombye? I’m excited about seeing the streetscape project come into fruition. 

Best local activity & why? Any event with the Light Horse in Woombye. Beersheba parade is October 31st and is a great opportunity for the community to come together, to commemorate, visit the Light Horse museum and have some delicious damper and Billy Tea. I just love having the horses in town.

Best thing about Woombye (apart from the people)? The sunsets, the poincianas in bloom, the walkability of the town, the main street businesses and the country vibe.

Is there a Woombye community group you’d like to give a shout-out to? The Woombye Light Horse troop for their dedication to educating others about the history of the Light Horse and the honour they bring to Woombye in doing so.
