BOQ Nambour & Hinterland’s Matt Wall is celebrating his first year owning the branch.

“It has been an amazing year and we have grown beyond our expectations,” Matt said. “And we had the pleasure of increasing the size of the team to cope with the demand – a great problem to have,” he said. 

“I will again be looking to expand and will likely be advertising in the near future for another team member to keep up with the growth – we have never seen our branch so busy!

“In the age of bank branch closures by some other banks we have seen the value in the “old fashioned” face to face local connection and I believe our customers agree,” Matt said.

“I would like to thank all of our customers, both long term BOQer’s and those who made the leap of faith and joined us within the last year – we appreciate your business and will work hard to keep you happy in the long term. I am incredibly lucky to lead a team of eight local staff who get amazing customer feedback every day.”

Although the Branch is based in Nambour, it services a large area, stretching out to Kenilworth and surrounds.

“This is one of the reasons we immediately changed the name to BOQ Nambour & Hinterland,” said Matt. 

“Because people are busier than ever, we are happy to come to them and can even help with virtual appointments for home lending.”

While banking has changed dramatically over the years, what hasn’t changed is the role a supportive banking team can play at critical moments in people’s lives.

“From buying your first home or car, upgrading property, or starting and growing your business, we’ve got your back,” Matt said. 

“Likewise, it’s a privilege to be there to help people going through tough times, like financial difficulties and estate processes.”

Matt has been in banking for over 12 years, previously managing one of the big four banks. He and his team are proud supporters of many local teams including the Nambour Piranhas Swimming Club and the Nambour Cricket Club.

Additionally Matt supports the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra and the Music & Arts Depts of St John’s College. Matt is a board member of the Nambour Chamber of Commerce and assists as Treasurer for the Nambour Tramway.

“The Nambour community has been amazingly supportive, and it makes me proud to see how hard the community works to ensure Nambour is a great place to live and work,” he said.  “We love to be a part of it.”
