Powell celebrates with family

Andrew Powell celebrates victory with family members Dan, Erin, Brielle, Ben, Rohanna, and his wife Taryn.

Incumbent LNP Member for Glass House Andrew Powell has claimed victory in what was always expected to be a tight race against Labor’s Brent Hampstead.

Mr Powell thanked Glass House voters.

“Thank you for placing your trust in me to continue representing you and our beautiful electorate for another four years. I am deeply humbled to remain in this role, doing what I love.

“I’d like to thank the other candidates who ran for Glass House. Putting your hand up to represent your community takes a lot of time, effort and sacrifice. I want to recognise the work they put in and to wish them all the best in whatever comes next for them.

“As for the LNP, unfortunately now was not our time, but I am proud of our party and the campaign we ran. I particularly acknowledge the leadership of Deb Frecklington, an extraordinary, passionate, personable leader.  We offered a vision for what we believe Queensland can become.  We will continue to fight hard each and every day for Queensland to see that vision still become a reality, by holding the Labor government to account.

“Being a member of Parliament is an extraordinary privilege. I have never forgotten that. I never take it for granted and will continue to serve you to the best of my ability. As always, I will make myself accessible to anyone who needs assistance. Whether it be via email, phone call, meeting or mobile office, I will be there to hear you and represent Glass House in Parliament. I will be a representative for all. It doesn’t matter whether you voted for me or not, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any concerns or issues you might have which you feel I may be able to assist you with.

“Again, thank you Glass House. I cannot wait to get stuck into working for our communities once more.”
