Christmas spirit to shine on at  Montville at Christmas Fair

Long cherished traditions will live on in Montville this year. On Saturday December 5 the Chamber of Commerce and local Community Groups bring together the fun of the fair to celebrate the season at its Festive Street Fair from 4-7pm.

“The Chamber wants to make Christmas shopping a joy with music, carols, street entertainers, unique shops, market stalls, balloon fun, foodie treats and Santa,” said President Shiralee Cooper.

Fairgoers can shop locally at participating businesses for a chance to win one of three major draws featuring prize packages valued at over $1000 each. “One of the Lucky Shopper prize packages includes a 2-night  midweek stay at the award winning Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat, Montville,” said Shiralee.

“We are so excited to feature a number of artists finally able to perform live. This year the 22 years-strong Pantastic Steelband will be bringing the colourful sounds of the Caribbean to Montville. The infectious sound of their steelpan instruments, and their captivating rhythms, are a delight to young and old.”

After a lengthy period without performances (due to the pandemic), the band is delighted to be able to present their distinctive music to the local community, courtesy of the Montville Chamber of Commerce and the Sunshine Coast Council.

Catch Pantastic’s performance on the Pottery Building deck at 4.30pm and then from 5.30pm at St Mary’s Hall, when they present a diverse selection of material from their repertoire - including some Christmas songs.

“The village’s famous Christmas tree has shone on throughout the year and now, for anyone wanting to experience the magic of a Montville Christmas from twilight, our Main Street will be festooned in fairy lights. Come and join us on December 5,” said Shiralee
