New owners to give landmark health centre a timely refresh

Glenn and Rebecca Martin of Queensland Building Solutions  plan to breathe new life into the “old building with a young heart”.

One of Nambour’s landmark buildings has recently changed hands and is about to enjoy a well deserved refurbishment.

Crescent Place Integrated Health Centre at 136 Nambour Mapleton Road has been taken over by Glenn and Rebecca Martin of Queensland Building Solutions, from John D Cooper and Eta Brand.

“We have owned the building for 17 years, and we are looking forward to seeing Glenn’s and Rebecca’s plans for the precinct unfold,” Mr Cooper said.

The building is over 60 years old and has been amongst other things, a sound studio and a bakery. “When we took it on, we sought to create a space that invited the best of the best health care practitioners from a broad range of modalities,” said Mr Cooper. “Over the years, it has been an incubator of sorts for healthcare professionals to develop their own practices in a welcoming and respectful environment.

“As it stands right now, there is a world class team of complementary and allied health services represented there. Access to practitioners of this calibre has never been more important, at a time when the world around us demands real resilience.

“We have always thought of it as an old building with a new heart, and we know that Glenn and his team have the skills and experience to breathe new life into the space.”

Mr Martin said he was excited about reinvigorating the Crescent Place Integrated Health Centre. “It is such a lovely old building with a rich history and Nambour in general is a fantastic place to be,” said Mr Martin.

“We have moved our company headquarters to Nambour as well because we enjoy working in the town, and can see the opportunities that come with being part of this community,” he said.

“There are 18 offices in total in the Centre, and eight of them are tenanted with health care providers,” said Mr Martin.

“We invite Allied Health professionals, all alternate health care practitioners and health and fitness proprietors who require office space or workshop areas to make contact with us to express their interest in inspecting our remaining spaces.”

Mr Martin anticipates they will fill quickly, given the close proximity to the town, hospital and transport, as well as the existing community of established professional health care providers. “They are absolutely ideal spaces for small to medium operators,” he said.
