Maleny Cafe changes hands after 24 years
After nearly a quarter of a century Mark Hutchinson’s Maple 3 Cafe has become a Maleny institution.
After 24 years it was with mixed emotions that Maleny’s popular Maple 3 Chef and owner Mark Hutchinson announced he and wife Trish had sold their beautiful cafe, secret recipes included.
“There are many people who have contributed to the story of Maple 3,” said Mark in his last post as owner on Facebook.
“The first and most important is my wife Trish. She has been the steadying influence, the mediator, the comforter. Second, my daughter Natasha who missed out some Dad time but learnt so much working with me.
“Third my Maple 3 work family. None of the past 24 years could have been achieved without you and the effort you put in. I look back on those busy/manic days during the public holidays and am proud of how we as a team pulled it off.”
Mark thanked all his customers and friends from over the years. “It has been a pleasure to look after you and to be a part of this rather beautiful town has added to the enjoyment.”
