A tower crane erected last month marked a milestone for Nambour’s changing real estate landscape.

Grandview Developments General Manager Gavin Wuiske said the crane would enable progress to ramp up at ‘Pinnacle on Maud’ – a complex heralded as a first for Nambour – comprising 40 luxurious units within easy proximity of Nambour CBD. 

“People will begin to see the superstructure emerge from behind the site hoarding in Maud Street,” he said. “As far as I recall this is the first tower crane since back when Watpac did the Hospital upgrade following the global financial crisis. 

“To have a project of this scale in Nambour from private industry is a great outcome for the revitalisation of Nambour. It is great to have a project developed and built by a local privately-owned family business, built by local trades using materials supplied by locals for local property buyers.

“There is no denying that is has been a long hard slog for the past two years – to acquire the sites, amalgamate, get the approvals and start construction during the wettest period in Nambour’s history.

“The weather has been a major challenge, in addition to Covid-related delays and material & labour shortages.”

He said only four units remained available.

“We have saved the best until last. The four remaining units are the east-facing, top-level units and the level below.” 

Mr Wuiske said sale prices on the recently-sold units showed Nambour was catching up to the rest of the Sunshine Coast in terms of price growth. He said a lot of young locals had opted to buy their first property instead of continuing to rent, encouraged by Federal Government support via the Home Builder Grant and the State’s First Home Buyers’ grant.
