This business is appropriately named because  Legacy Properties Queensland owners Tracie and Carl Thomas and their daughter Sara, believe that holding real estate is the way to build your financial legacy.

“Wealth is maintained in real estate when families own properties for generations,” Carl explained. 

“One generation’s ceiling should be the next generation’s floor. Every generation should not necessarily be on the hamster-wheel to own their own home. 

“Ideally, property should be passed down and maintained through generations to really see the benefits, this is where we come in. We apply 100 percent of our effort towards maintaining your property and the tenancy relationship.”

Rental specialists Tracie, Carl and Sara bought Maleny Property Rentals in December last year and are enjoying being in business together.

“Naturally we all have a similar work ethic and values,” Tracie said. “And a good sense of humour, which can be really important at times!”

It’s not suprising they get along. They developed their ability to work together while sailing and living aboard a 44ft yacht for five years.

“It was close living and the kids were home schooled, so there were daily challenges we had to overcome as a family,” Tracie said.

Tracie has 15 years of experience in property management, Carl has 20 years in the top levels of management and operations for large international companies and Sara has over eight years experience in administration. 

Needless to say, together they are well qualified and experienced to provide a high level of service in property management.

“We manage properties from granny flats to large, luxury properties and acreages,” said Tracie. “One of the fundamental aspects of this industry is appropriately matching tenants to specific properties. I also make a point of establishing great relationships with both the property owners and the tenants because in my experience, this makes things smoother for everyone”. Carl agreed, “We are landlords ourselves and we have also been tenants, so we understand the perspectives of both which really helps us be good managers."
