Application for independent retirement village in Highworth

Application for independent
retirement village in Highworth

Developers last week lodged an application for a substantial over 50s  retirement village at Highworth.

The Grove Retirement says the significant 275-home village will cater for demand for modern, high quality, independent retirement living options.

“We have great confidence in the future of the Nambour area,” said the Grove Retirement’s Andrew Pitcher.

“Highworth, with its natural beauty, northerly aspect and its immediate proximity to the Nambour General Hospital medical precinct, is a wonderful position for a high quality retirement living offering.

“Along with our residential development business, retirement living is something we have a longer-term interest in.

“The Sunshine Coast hinterland towns remain our primary area of business focus.”

The village will include two and three bedroom homes with northerly aspects.

Residents will have access to community facilities including: function rooms, pools, tennis courts, a bowls green, a cinema, a gymnasium, offices, a Men’s Shed, extensive RV / caravan parking and a small golf centre.

“As well as being fantastic for residents, the potential economic benefits (during construction and once operational) will be substantial for the Sunshine Coast.

“Over the next 12 months we will be pursuing the appropriate approvals for the development and assessing the feasibility of the project.”

The village will include two and three bedroom homes with northerly aspects.
